Applicant VS-139 completed an MSc in Geology in 2004 and a BSc in Earth Sciences (Geology, Geography and Environmental Management) in 1999 and a further BSc in Geology in 2000 at Rand Afrikaans University. He further developed knowledge of the subject by attending a number of courses related to geology, for instance a Rock and Soil Logging course, An Introduction to Physical Hydro Geology and Soil Mechanics. Furthermore he also attended courses on London Underground Fire Safety and Health and First Aid. He worked as a Geoenvironmental Engineer and before that as an Exploration Geologist. His duties involved responsibility for managing geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects, planning, reporting and on-site surveying and monitoring.
