It is impossible to move either the earth or its ground water without involving some aspect of Regulation that will refer back to a Regulator. The Environment Agency is such a body. It is important for Geoscientists to appreciate and be aware of the current regulations and to be able to communicate effectively to those who are from another discipline. This makes geology “work” for a technical society.
